The BIG news

Because it has been requested, I'm posting this a day earlier than I planned...

We sold our home and have bought a new one! I thought it would take months for our house to sell. I was planning on being here at least till July, but we will have a new house by the end of May. The Saturday before last our house was shown and my dad (our realtor) was sent an offer email. I found out about it Monday afternoon but he said that until we have a contract it doesn't mean much. We got the contract on Tuesday and after some back and forth on very minor things we signed the contract this Monday. We will close on this house (hopefully) on May 21st and be out of the house by May 25th. At the same time we also signed an offer contract on a home in Frisco to close on May 22nd.

Last week, after we recieved the contract for our house I started seriously looking for our new home. We were looking for proximity to Juan's work (preferably with multiple routes that wouldn't be under construction anytime soon), an excellent school district, and a forever home that we wouldn't grow out of. It was a hefty list but we were hoping for the best. We quickly narrowed it down to the Frisco area. On Saturday we found 2 homes that we really, really liked. My dad called both realtors and left messages one called back and said closing on that house would be in July so that one was out. The second realtor called back on Monday and let us know his clients would accept our verbal offer. This house is in a super awsome location, it is less than half of the drive that Juan currently drives to work, it is close to everything in Frisco, 1/2 a mile from an Exemplary rated elementary school and big city park, a mile away from my mom's work, 5 miutes from our church building and any shopping or entertainment we could ever want is within 15 minutes, we will even be 5 minutes closer to my parent's house. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths with a guest bedroom down and the rest upstairs (ideal in my opinion) and the neighborhood looks like it has lots of kids. Here is a picture.

We feel extremely blessed by the way everything has worked so smoothly and quickly for us. We are continuing to pray for a smooth closing and are hoping for the best. We will miss our Justin friends so much when we leave. This has been a wonderful home for us and we have made so many wonderful friends. We'll come back and visit and if any of you come our way (perhaps to visit IKEA), we'd love to have you over!

Wow! Congratulations - its a beautiful house. I'll never forget when you guys were building your current house and made that paper furniture for planning. So funny!

Rachel....I knew all of this but reading it makes me cry. I am so happy for you guys, and that Juan can be at home more with his family instead of driving in the car. We love your family. Frisco feels so far away.

I'm so glad you posted this! The house looks fantastic, the neighborhood sounds great, and because of the way things are falling into place for you, I know it's the right thing for your family. But like everyone else, we will MISS you all so much! I guess this means I need to make many more trips to Ikea :)
