Our Moving Adventure

I can't believe that it has been almost a month since we moved into our house. I want to say a big thank you to all our friends who showed up to help us move on Saturday even though it was super hot and we hadn't 100% finished packing. We couldn't have done it without you. And thank you to the men from our new ward and Rea who helped us move our heavy furniture into our new two story house. I also want to say a SUPER big thank you to my family who watched Jovi and Corbin that weekend and came and helped unpack the kid's stuff before they showed up Sunday evening. After that the weeks essentially disappeared like this:
Week 1- unpacking basic stuff and trying to find places for it
Week 2- finalizing where big furniture should go, unpacking more, my birthday and that night the air conditioner broke (at the start of a holiday weekend, of course).
Week 3-Broken air conditioning for most of the week (you can't get anything done when it is too hot to move)BUT it got fixed in time for Juan's family to come over, hang out and spend the weekend with us which was a lot of fun.
Week 4-This week has been basically a recovery week from the three previous weeks, not much except basic cleaning has gotten done.
It has been a true adventure with unexpected twists and turns and one that I am totally ok with not repeating for a long, long time. You will notice that there are no pictures of the house because I still feel it has a long way to go, no walls are painted, no pictures or curtains are hung and the living rooms are the only rooms where we are pretty sure the furniture won't be moving anytime soon. Our bedroom has become the collecting place for all boxes full of stuff that doesn't have a place to go. I'll put up pictures as we finish decorating rooms, but everyone is welcome to come over and check it out in its unfinished state if they are in the area.

I understand completely! Moving is exciting, until it drags on for a few weeks and then it's just a matter of where to put the left over junk...at least that is how it works in our house! I hope that you feel settled soon.
